All support for Process Builder ends in 2025

Process Builder is an old method of creating processes (automated workflows) on the Salesforce Platform. After December 31, 2025, Salesforce will no longer be providing support and bug fixes for Process Builder. During 2023, Salesforce already removed the ability to create new processes using Process Builder. You will also no longer be able to edit your existing automations built in Process Builder.

It is strongly recommended to migrate any existing Process Builder processes to Flow - the newer, better way to automate workflows in Salesforce.

Don’t know if your processes were created using Process Builder?

If they were made before 2019, there is a high chance. We can help you find out for certain - contact us today.

Risks of using Process Builder after it is retired

  • Issues with your software

The end of support means you will no longer receive any bug fixes for Process Builder or support to resolve any issues that may occur.
  • Cannot follow best practices

Using an unsupported, legacy feature means your software won’t follow best practices, and you won’t be able to implement them in future.
  • Falling behind and missed opportunities

Because you can’t use Process Builder to create new processes, you can’t add vital new workflows to change/extend functionality as your needs evolve.

Why transform your processes with Salesforce Flow?

Migrating to Flow doesn’t just mitigate the risk of remaining on an unsupported feature (Process Builder). Flow is more powerful and flexible, delivering greater value and setting you up for future success. It’s the perfect opportunity to review your existing processes and make valuable improvements.

Better for complex logic and business processes

A more robust and flexible solution for handling complex logic and business processes. You have the ability to incorporate conditional branching, loops, record lookups, and decision elements, allowing for more intricate automation workflows.

Higher performance
and greater scalability

While Flows are subject to Salesforce governor limits like any other Salesforce automation tool, they generally offer better performance and scalability compared to Process Builder, especially for scenarios with large data volumes or complex processing logic.

More user interactivity and guided processes

Enables interactive and guided user experiences within Salesforce. You can create custom screens and forms to collect input from users, display dynamic information, and guide users through complex processes step by step.

Flexible, reusable components and modularity

You can create reusable components called Screen Flows, invoked from multiple locations within Salesforce, such as Lightning pages, buttons, or even external systems via APIs. This modularity promotes code reuse, reduces redundancy, and simplifies maintenance.

Better version control and deployment options

You can package Flows as part of Salesforce managed or unmanaged packages, track changes using version control systems, and deploy flows between Salesforce environments using change sets or Salesforce DX.

Superior error handling and debugging

Provides more robust error handling and debugging features. You can define error handling logic, implement fault paths, and capture detailed debug logs to troubleshoot issues more effectively during flow execution.

Can use custom Apex code via Apex Actions or Apex triggers

Gives additional flexibility and extensibility when standard declarative tools fall short. Developers can implement complex business logic or integrate with external systems that cannot be achieved solely through point-and-click configuration.
