Read moreNew year, new you — and a new Salesforce® Spring ‘22 Release! Yes, another Salesforce update is here. As always, it’s packed with a range of upgrades, from major features to small enhancements. Don’t worry if you’re not fully informed and ready — we’ve got you covered! Let’s see what this new release has in store.
Flow updates
With the planned retirement of Workflow Rules and Process Builder, every Salesforce user is looking to Flows to fill the gaps in functionality and usability. Fortunately, Salesforce is answering that call with some new additions including a special Migrate to Flow tool (Beta) to help with the transition. Users will be able to test the new process, convert certain workflow rules and see for themselves that they can achieve the same results using the Flow builder.

Now you can get a better feel of your Flows with a new tool — Flow Trigger Explorer. Contrary to the Flow List view it provides more interactive and visually appealing access to record trigger flows. You can clearly see and effortlessly manage all of the flows that are associated with a specified object and that run when a record is created, updated or deleted.
Do you struggle with irrelevant data in your Flow builder Collections? Luckily this won’t be a problem anymore. Now you can filter unwanted data from your Collections with one click of a button. Simply choose a Collection and define conditions using a formula or your own pre-defined custom condition logic. The items that meet those conditions will be automatically output, and separated from your original collection.
Another major game-changer is the ability to define the run order of Record-Triggered Flows for an Object. This tool enables you to decide which Flows run after each other. You can choose a trigger order value from 1 to 2,000 to determine the run order of before-save or after-save flows for the same object. The only exception is that you can’t prioritize an after-save flow to run before any before-save flows or before an Apex trigger.
But wait — there’s more! These are just a few of the many amazing Flow enhancements included in the Spring ’22 Salesforce release. If you’d like a full list as well as recommendations for how they can optimize your processes, just get in touch. We will be more than happy to walk you through these new features and help you make the most of them for your business.
Now, let’s take a look at some of the other new changes to Salesforce.
Oversee the Default Records available for users with Scoping Rules
Great news — you no longer need to pay extra to have access to Scoping Rules. Now they’re available to everyone, enabling users to control access to default records that are visible during the search process.
You can assign specific criteria that apply to different users to help them access relevant data associated with their scope. When this is implemented correctly, users will spend less time scrolling through search results, saving valuable time.
Scope Rules are available for custom objects and the “account”, “case”, “contact”, “event”, “lead”, “opportunity” and “task” standard objects. They’re flexible and can be disabled and modified freely. What’s great about them is that they prioritize the most useful records without blocking access to the rest.

Get more accurate predictions with improved Collaborative Forecasts

If you want to boost the capabilities of your sales team and drive sales you’ll be happy to hear about the significant improvements to Collaborative Forecasts.
Firstly, Forecast Settings has had a makeover. Now, both Forecast Types and Forecast Settings are combined in one setup page. Apart from the revamped design and text, it’s also more convenient, as the most used settings — manager and owner adjustments — are selected by default. You can easily create Forecast Types directly from the Setup UI and quickly determine if you want to measure or filter your forecasting data.
Another improvement is the addition of new insights to the Core Forecasting KPIs. The brand new ready-to-use columns in the forecasting grid automatically present you with valuable metrics, so you can avoid human errors and save time.
The Gap to Quota column predicts how close the sales team is to achieving their quota. Meanwhile, the Pipeline Coverage column calculates the ratio of opportunities in the sales pipeline over your sales team’s Gap to Quota.

If you’re a sales team leader you’ll be happy to discover a tool that helps you to easily see recent changes to forecast categories. Adjusting your sales and forecasting strategy will now be so much easier thanks to the week-over-week view of all the changes for each of the forecast categories.
Last but not least, your sales team will be able to use custom filters to determine which opportunities to include or exclude from forecasting depending on the record type. You will be able to set separate filter condition logic for each Forecast Type. This could be helpful when you are looking to differentiate New Opportunities from Renewals, for instance.
Enhanced user personal data protection with the Personal Information Management tool
Salesforce understands how important it is to guarantee the security of your customers’ sensitive data. The new Personal Information Management tool will replace the current Hide Personal Information setting and introduce specially protected user record fields for personally identifiable information (PII). This means now you can determine which custom and standard user fields are considered PII.
Accelerate report type selection with New Reports
With the enhanced report type selector, selecting report types has never been easier. Now you can effortlessly access previously used reports. In a split second, you can see which report types are standard or custom.
Another useful feature is the ability to see specific details such as who created the report type and also which fields and objects were included. This will simplify day-to-day tasks as you can be faster at creating new reports having access to recently selected types.
Save time with Multiple Fields Inline editing

Do you spend a lot of time reruning your reports over and over again in order to clean the data or save statuses? If so, this new feature will be just what you’re looking for. Now you can edit multiple records inline on the report run page. You will be able to make many inline changes in multiple rows or columns all at once.
Optimize teamwork with Orchestrator Work Guide
Finally! The Orchestrator Work Guide is no longer just a beta feature and is better than ever. Now every user group can save on handover time. It is a must-have while arranging multi-user, multi-step and multi-stage Flows. The orchestrator helps admins to accelerate the progress by aggregating numerous Flows and processes together with their owners.
An orchestration creates a work item for an interactive step and sends an email notification to the assigned users informing them that their work is ready to be completed. From now on it will also display actions (tasks) assigned to users.
